2009 Car: Double D

The 2009 Virginia Tech Baja SAE team competed at Winter Baja in Houghton Michigan, placing 21st, and SAE Mini Baja East in Auburn Alabama, placing 13th. More competition pictures are available by following the Photos link.

2008 Car: Hammertime

This past winter, the Virginia Tech Baja team ran Hammertime in the Michigan Tech Winter Baja competition alongside Double D. Some modifications were made to improve the durability as well as the handling of the car. This fall, according to SAE regulations, we will destroy this car when we begin construction on our new car so that we only have two active vehicles. We also displayed this vehicle at the Virginia State Fair to gain recognition for the team and our sponsors. As always, the VT Baja team appreciates the wonderful support from our sponsors.

2007 Car: Skeeter

Skeeter competed in SAE sanctioned races for two years, including the 2007 Winter Baja event in Michigan. Skeeter has been passed onto a graduate team here at Virginia Tech that is developing a new Infinitely Variable Transmission. We hope to apply their development in future Baja SAE vehicles.
